AMOC Racing Reveals Rockingham Line-up

Start

AMOC Racing Intermarque and GT Challenge competitors head to Rockingham in Northamptonshire on Saturday 24 June for a combined race for the third round of the season.

In the AMOC Intermarque Championship current title holder James Hilliard and James Guess have clocked up maximum points in their Porsche 968 Club Sport in both of the two previous rounds – Donington and Oulton Park. They will be looking to maintain their lead to defend the title.  Hot competition comes from fellow Porsche drivers Bob Searles driving with Steve Atkinson in a Porsche 944 Turbo, and Matthew Dietz and David Norton in another Porsche 968 CS. Both cars will be out at the forthcoming Rockingham event looking for a podium finish.

Robert Hollyman also returns to further strengthen the Porsche Team back with his striking blue Porsche 964. The Aston Martin team challenge will be led by Simon Watts and Roberto Giordanelli in an Aston Martin AMV8 and Gail Hill returns to head up the American V8 team in her Ford Mustang GT.

GT4 and Multimarque Challenge competitor Tom Andrew sadly suffered damage to his stunning bespoke Morgan Aero8GT at Oulton Park when the engine cut mid corner at Druids and will be absent from the grid at Rockingham. Leaving the door open for Andy Christopher to be the man to beat, fielding a Ferrari 430 Challenge car. He will be joined by Matthew Wilton and Eddy Cowen in their Ferrari 360.  Tom Black and David Tinn will be leading the battle of the Aston Martin GT4s and you can expect to see a great battle between these two experienced GT4 racers.

All the action takes place on Saturday 24 June at Rockingham, where the 30 minute qualifying session for this combined race starts at 10.40am, followed by a 45 minute race with a compulsory pit stop at 15.45 pm in the afternoon.

Closely following this Rockingham outround is the second full AMOC Racing event of the season at Snetterton on July 8.
