A truly striking, one-of-kind (your not kidding) McLaren 720S ( ...in pink!!) made its public debut this weekend at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey, California. The Bespoke division of McLaren Special Operations crafted the unique McLaren supercar, to the specification of entrepreneur and philanthropist, Michael Fux.
Silverstone Auctions is to auction a Series II Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupé that is believed to be the last of its type ever sold as new. In excellent condition and never having undergone a major restoration, the Jaguar Light Blue E-Type will go under the hammer at the Salon Privé Sale at Blenheim Palace on 2nd September.
This rare, early XK120 Alloy Competition Roadster is one of only 184 left-hand- drive alloy-bodied roadsters and was delivered new to Charles Hornburg in Los Angeles, USA. He was the first importer of Jaguar automobiles to the United States and a competition specialist responsible for the sale of some of the very important racing Jaguars in the 1950s, including lightweight XK120s, C-Types and D-Types.
For sale at Fiskens’ - one of the 20 ‘customer’ DB3Ss, chassis 115 being delivered new to US privateer Joe Lubin. In 1957, future Ferrari F1 ace Richie Ginther raced it for Lubin at selected meetings – he scored a second place at Pomona, plus two thirds at Paramount Ranch and another at Palm Springs.
Silverstone Auctions will present 137 classic and race cars at the forthcoming Silverstone Classic event. The race car sale takes place before the festival on Thursday, 27th July, with road cars going under the hammer over the two days of the Silverstone Classic weekend on 29th – 30th July.
