Ferrari Flock go under the hammer at Bonhams Scottsdale Auction – 15th Jan

This week Bonhams kicks off the year with the first classic car sale, The Scottsdale 2015 Auction, held on January 15th at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. The sale is part of a week long event in which over 2,000 cars from several auction houses go under the hammer.

This year Bonhams has over 80 motors on offer, with a flock of classic Ferraris thrown in.

Star of the sale will be a 1966 Ferrari 275 Gran Turismo Berlinetta Competizione Scaglietti which was class winner at the 1967 Le Man 24 Hours, the 1969 Spa-Francorchamps 1000 Km, and the 1969 Imola 500 Km under the Swiss Scuderia Filipinetti team. The eleventh of only twelve ever built, this Ferrari Classiche-certified car has also won honours at more recent shows and events, including the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Le Mans and Silverstone Classic. Its estimate hasn’t been released but is available upon request.

Other Ferraris included in the Bonhams Scottsdale 2015 sale include:

1955 Ferrari 250 Europa GT Alloy Coupe – One of just two Europa GT examples bodied with lightweight aluminum alloy coachwork, chassis no. 0389 GT was built to competition specifications and originally prepared for the 1955 Mille Miglia, althout it ultimately never ran the race as it was not completed in time.  Estimate: £1,800,000 to £2,200,000

1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Alloy Long-Nose – this beautifully restored 275 GTB also boasts factory certification with a Ferrari Classiche Red Book. Chassis no. 08143 retains its original matching numbers drivetrain, making it a highly authentic and well-documented example. Estimate: £2,200,000 to £2,400,000

1972 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider – One of 123 factory Daytona Spiders. This Spider was the 72nd example built and remains in exceptionally well restored condition throughout. The car’s history file includes Ferrari Classiche’s red certification book, Marcel Massini’s history report, and an abundance of restoration receipts. Estimate: £2,000,000 to £2,200,000

1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso Berlinetta – A matching numbers example, retaining its original body and chassis, it is believed to have had just four owners from new, and one single owner for 41 years. Presented in its factory delivered livery with only 53,200 miles. Estimate: unavailable

1966 Ferrari 330 GTC, – with coachwork by Pininfarina, chassis #08969 is finished in the period and original bronze colour of Nocciola Mettalizatto. This striking 330 GTC is offered with owner’s handbooks, a jack, tools, and a history file containing Marcel Massini’s history report and the car’s Italian road registration documents from the 1960s. Estimate: £460,000 to £590,000

1969 Ferrari Dino 246 GT – A desirable early-production L-series example, this multiple FCA Platinum Award winning example is the 65th of just 355 L-Series Dino 246 GTs produced. Estimate: £300,000 to £330,000

1984 Ferrari 308 GTSi Quattrovalvole – A highly original example with less than 11,000 miles from new and one owner for decades. The exterior is presented in the elegant and rare dark red Prugna Metallic over a beige and tan interior, this end-of-the run 308 has the unrepeatable feel of a solid, low mileage original car. Estimate: £49,000 to £66,000.

1982 Ferrari 512 – this 512 BBi shows a mere 8,553 miles on its odometer and is Offered from long-term California ownership. Presented in its original Rosso Corsa finish with Nero Black leather. Estimate: £92,000 to £120,000

1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS – This well cared for example of the desirable Ferrari Dino 246 Spider was completed at the Maranello Ferrari factory in October of 1972, in the final E-series of the production run. Fitted with air conditioning and power windows, this striking E-Series Ferrari Dino 246 GTS presents beautifully throughout. Estimate: £230,000 to £300,000

1990 Ferrari Testarossa – Kept as a time-warp in as-delivered condition. This amazing Testarossa had been driven only 171 miles when it was parked 24 years ago, and is without a doubt one of the lowest-mileage Testarossas in the world. Estimate: £82,000 to £130,000

1984 Ferrari 512 BBi – One of just 141 examples from the final 1984 model year, this 512 Berlinetta Boxer iniezione’sodometer reads a mere 9,815 miles today, which could indeed be the original mileage. Its Nero black paint is in beautiful condition, and its matching Nero black leather interior is as clean and unmarked. Estimate: £92,000 to £120,000

1969 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta – Desirable, early-production Plexi-nose Daytona Berlinetta in striking black over black livery has been in the same ownership for decades. Estimate: £430,000 to £530,000

1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta – finished in the elegant dark maroon metallic Rosso Cordoba Metallizzato over a beige interior with black leather inserts on the seats, this powerful, US-delivered 365 GTB/4 Daytona presents beautifully inside and out, and the indicated mileage of just over 32,000 miles is believed the be the car’s actual mileage since new. Estimate: £460,000 to £560,000
