Financing a classic car at auction today got a whole lot easier following Historics at Brooklands ground-breaking move that enables the established auction house to provide a structured finance offering for its clients.

Through this unique extension to its customer services, Historics becomes the first specialist classic car auction house to hold its own limited permission to offer consumer credit – authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority – through a unique partnership with the UK’s leading specialist provider of finance for classic sports and race cars, Classic & Sports Finance.

Prospective buyers at all future Historics auctions – starting at the next sale on Saturday, March 4th – will be able to arrange finance facilities for their purchase in advance of the sale, subject to acceptance, and bid in the knowledge that they have a finance agreement pre-arranged, with a simple, secure process to follow post-sale.

With convenience at the heart of the offer, a new web-based interactive finance calculator – embedded with every auction consignment listing in Historics on-line catalogue at www.historics.co.uk– enables those interested to configure their ideal package, with direct discussion with Classic & Sports Finance as required.  It is anticipated that most buyers will opt for a hire purchase agreement but other finance options are available.

Senior personnel from Classic & Sports Finance will be in attendance at Historics’ auction previews and sale days to assist potential buyers with further expert advice. The partnership extends to sharing respective market information, which will be fully available to clients via direct contact and at sales, with financing included in the popular auction seminars that Historics introduced in 2015.

Historics’ Auction Director, Edward Bridger-Stille, commented: “After an extremely buoyant year, we are delighted to start 2017 by further broadening our service to our clients through this financial offering in partnership with the much-respected Classic & Sports Finance.

“Breaking new ground by becoming the first specialist auction house in our sector to hold its own FCA limited permission is a good indication of our forward-thinking philosophy, in the interests of our clients.”

Rob Johnson, Managing Director of Classic & Sports Finance, added: “The demand for finance has grown in tandem with the buoyancy of the classic car market, and we are thrilled to be working closely with a classic car auction specialist as well-respected as Historics at Brooklands.”

“Classic & Sports Finance’s commitment to market research and building relationships in the classic car sector is unparalleled in our industry and our new partnership with Historics affirms this.”

Historics’ finance offer is applicable to all consignments (excluding those offered at No Reserve) at its next major sale, at Brooklands Museum on Saturday, March 4th where 140 fine classics will be offered.  Full details at http://www.historics.co.uk/buying/finance-options.aspx or for further information, contact Historics on 01753 639170, email: auctions@historics.co.uk, or visit Classic & Sports Finance at www.classicandsportsfinance.com.
