Of the British entries Healey expert Jeremy Welch returned to the Nürburgring after 10 years, co-driving the ex Bruce Mclaren Jaguar E-Type with Joaquin Folch-Rusinol. The car, which features Denis Welch Motorsport powertrain and is prepared by Simon Hadfield Motorsport, ran a superb race in the Jaguar Classic Challenge to take 2nd place overall.

Jeremy said “To race at the Nürburgring for the first time in 10 years and to take 2nd place is a great result. To do it in such an important historic car makes it even better. Many thanks to Joaquin for the opportunity to co-drive with him”.

Other British entrants include Julian Thomas whose weekend got off to a difficult start having damaged the front suspension and bonnet of his E-Type during testing. The hard work of the team, a spare bonnet and parts kindly loaned by Georg Nolte and Stefan Sautter meant that he could qualify and start the race. Julian spent 12 laps challenging for the lead, behind Marcus von Oeynhausen, constantly in hot air. Unfortunately the car overheated, causing a misfire and he was forced to retire.

And in the Gentleman Drivers- Pre 1965 GT Cars race Julian Thomas driving his Denis Welch Motorsport prepared Jaguar E-Type made up for retirement from the Jaguar Classic Challenge to take 2nd place overall in the race, comfortably the fastest E-Type.

The Jaguar E-Type of Joaquin Folch-Rusinol and co-driver Jeremy Welch also competed, finishing 8th. Welch also co-drove the Austin Healey 3000 of Nils-Fredrik Nyblaeus, they finished 3rd in class as the highest placed Austin Healey, 17th overall.
